Chicago killings cost $2.5 billion a year
Bloomberg News: Shootings cost Chicago $2.5 billion a year, or about $2,500 per household, according to Jens Ludwig, director of the University of Chicago Crime Lab.
Many of those costs are intangibles, Ludwig said, like keeping people from going outside or letting their children walk to school. Reducing even a fraction of the carnage, though, would free up more money than the city expects to save each year from the closing of 49 elementary schools approved yesterday by the school board.

Bonnie gets so little as it is with the writers, now the fandom is trying to claw at the little they give her to try to give to Elena…after Bonnie already gave up her life for this girl?! No, hell no. The Bennett line belongs to Bonnie only, it’s a line in which magic has been passed down from mother to daughter for over 2,000 years unbroken until Happy McNecksappy took out Abby. If the Petrovas had any drop of Bennett blood in them we would’ve seen them using magic to save their own asses instead of forming parasitic relationships with Bennetts who have died or were killed to save them. If Qetsiyah has a dopplegänger, it is and will be Bonnie Bennett or an entirely new witch portrayed by a black actress. If you have to drag Elena into this mess (because lord knows every thing just has to be about Elena[/sarcasm]), then she is more than likely the dopplegänger of the lover Qetsiyah killed (and she probably used her blood to create the immortality spell), I called that shit like 3 months ago.
